Let's Slurp Us Some Noodles

I got a PM from J-Hoon Balbuena about his jazz, hip hop, album Noodles that he's moved to the hotter side of Asia, Hong Kong, where his 11-track earfood is gaining digestive traction, what with a collab with Opolopo from Stockholm (Tokyo Dawn Records). DL the track for free in the link provided.

J-Hoon did a 4-city swing of China (Guangzhou, ChongQing, Chengdu and Guiyang) that was mad successful with another Dj Bloodunza. Snagged some music vids as well, so stay tuned for that, pops.

Meanwhile, this Opolopo collab got featured at moovmnt.com (the world-renowned hip hop soul portal) and as of this writing, it has 4k++ listens and god knows how many DLs.

Noodles the album is line after line of dreamy grooves, copping a good feel of urban street life, boozy and laid back and definitely good for the ears. J-Hoon (aka Jun Pak, drummed for a bunch of bands, notably Kjwan back in the '00s—remember the Big Sky Mind? Daym!) brings a lot of homegrown talents up with every track, like Nights of Rizal (appearing on U & Me), Ian Tayao of Wilabaliw (Shotgun), June Mariezy, Julianne and more.

Lest this become a "Pinoys don't know how to appreciate their own talent" and "OPM is not dead!" rant, lemme just say that is a good thing, for J-Hoon, for the Pinoys that collab with him on his sweet album, and for all of us. See ya on the Flip side yo.

Now I need to slurp a scotch.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
